News on how Vitamin B delays Alzheimer’s

The most shared news story on the BBC today is of research showing how Vitamin B slows down the onset of Alzheimer’s (see BBC report).

Alzheimer’s disease is the most common cause of dementia in older people. But Alzheimer’s is not restricted to the elderly: in the UK, there are over 16,000 people under the age of 65 with dementia.

The excitement over vitamin B is that it can put off Alzheimer’s by as much as 50%. However experts have warned not to take very high levels of vitamin supplements without medical advice.
