There were only 1000 Giant Pandas left when the world’s attention turned to saving the species. Now, the number is slowly edging towards 2000.
But it’s still important work because the number of Giant Pandas has dwindled at an alarming rate and it is well known that the species has difficulty reproducing. Not to mention how the pandas help preserve the forests where they live, which serve as home for millions of people.
This is why Scotland’s Royal Zoological Society (and some notable Scottish politicians) are extremely proud of their acquisition of Tian Tian and Yang Guang – two Giant Pandas whom everyone hopes will breed any day now.
And, not surprisingly, the liquorice confectioners, Panda, are also adding their support by donating money for the Panda’s upkeep with every bag of Panda Strawberry Liquorice bought – a true way for everyone to put their money where their mouth is.
